Auditing

Our auditing of annual accounts is based on the most accurate planning. We have developed a collection of auditing manuals, which are constantly updated in accordance to changes in the law and auditing guidelines, and which ensure the highest possible level of quality in accordance with sound auditing practice and international auditing standards.

Accountancy

Our constant updated information ensures that the accounts that we review or prepares, are in accordance with statutory requirements and current auditing guidelines, and of course sound accounting principles.

We are happy to assist with the preparation of annual and interim accounts, with as well as without auditing. We provide advice on taxation, so that the relevant tax acts are used to maximum benefit. Furthermore, we advice whether the client's accounting procedures are adequate.

Bookkeeping Assistance

For those companies that lack the capacity to keep their own bookkeeping system, we handle their bookkeeping. Our bookkeeping is computerised and based on sector-oriented standards adaptable to the client's individual needs.

Our bookkeeping system is user-friendly and can quickly be put into operation.

Taxation

This service is done with the auditing and preparation of accounts. We provide advice on computation of capital allowance and tax payable, personal income tax and assessments.

Budgets

Augustus Prom offers services to clients in their preparation of budgets. The preparation of the budgets is carried out in close cooperation with the client, making the budgets express exactly the client's expectations of the future. Essential parts of the budgets are a written conclusion, and a description of the premises of the budget.

To make the budgets as informative as possible, we use the same layout and accounting principles as used at the preparation of the annual accounts.

Computerisation

We encourage our clients to computerise their accounting functions and provide advice on suitable accounting software that caters for their needs. We also install, and train the clients' staff on the workings of the package. All our senior staff members are computer literate with extensive knowledge on varying accounting software.

Business Consultancy

Many years' experience gained from our conduct of numerous assignments coupled with those derived from assignments conducted in close collaboration with other firms on advisory services to numerous business clients, combined with our on-going in-service training, have made our business consultancy one of Augustus Prom most significant areas of work.

Our advisory service comprises the following areas: Budgeting, financing, taxation, purchase and sale of company, company formation and reconstruction.

One Stop Shop Service

Clients can enjoy a quick and efficient service encompassing various services at the same time and same place. We can register your business or company, make the necessary contact to equip you with the best possible personnel and advice on operational matters. We can undertake all the necessary documentation necessary for the business or company to be registered under the Free Export Processing Zone programme currently in operation in the Gambia. We take away the bottleneck from you.

Management Consultancy

This service which we originally conducted in collaboration with Coopers & Lybrand, UK is now being offered to clients on our own. It covers such areas as investigation, special audits, divestiture, advice on privatisation etc.

Insolvency

This service is being provided with the assistance and collaboration of Solicitors in practice. It includes services in bankruptcy, administration, and liquidation of companies.

Trading in Company Shares

This brokerage service is conducted as the current volume of transactions does not yet made this service economically enough to be on its own. There is no Stock Exchange in the Gambia, and Augustus Prom has been providing this service by acting as a medium for the buying and selling of the shares of some companies operating in the Gambia. Individual shareholders come to us for the purchase or sale of shares and we locate buyers or sellers, as the case may be. All the necessary paperwork to effect the transfers is undertaken by us.

The firm currently has strong resources and capacity to conduct major assignment in the Gambia and the sub-region.
